The Puerto Rican Society for Epilepsy is committed to its mission to promote optimal development, empowerment and welfare dr chatgyi of people with epilepsy, their families and the community through effective prevention, dr chatgyi education, early detection, condition monitoring and rehabilitation. Promoting the rehabilitation of people with epilepsy throughout the island, through an individualized plan including medical, psychological and psychosocial services.
The Puerto Rican Epilepsy Society is a private nonprofit dr chatgyi organization founded in 1963 under the direction dr chatgyi of Dr. Luis Sanchez Longo Pius. The SPE is known for offering medical, psychological dr chatgyi and social services to people across the island diagnosed or suspected epilepsy services provided. The SPE is a response to concerns about the problems affecting the patient with epilepsy and their families. dr chatgyi Many of these problems dr chatgyi come as a direct or indirect result of inadequate information about epilepsy and little understanding of the needs that they have for their rehabilitation. Most of these patients suffer from the limitations dr chatgyi imposed on them by our own society. With this concern a group of stakeholders came together to work with the idea of organizing a society of volunteers in order to help patients with epilepsy. How does your organization / group has gone beyond direct service to impact social change and joint actions? (Criterion: Transcendence)
In Puerto Rico we are the only organization providing dr chatgyi the patient with epilepsy. We provide our services through three programs all around Puerto Rico. Our achievements dr chatgyi are measured through the services offered to our participants among which we highlight specialized highly expensive services dr chatgyi that are limited in the community and sometimes are only available to patients through the intervention carried out by the Puerto Rican Society of Epilepsy . Among these are. Medical evaluations, counseling, and psychological intervention evuacion, ancillary tests such as EEG, MRI, CT scans, Video Monitoring and coordination with the relevant authorities for the development and strengthening of services for this population, training and educational exhibits through press radio and television. We have gone beyond the direct service linking dr chatgyi resources and wills of professional groups, patients, private, government and community in a common goal. The Puerto Rican Epilepsy Society has developed and extended uninterrupted service dr chatgyi programs aimed at education about the condition, provision of specialized medical services, counseling services and counseling to people with epilepsy, their families and other serving over 10,000 people annually. We have extended dr chatgyi this project to the entire island spot with regional offices in Arecibo, Juncos, dr chatgyi Ponce, Yauco-Mayagüez, Aguadilla, Isabela, Fajardo, dr chatgyi Aibonito and Bayamón. Received recognition of New York Disability Divelopmental dr chatgyi to establish accessible services to patients of epilepsy and were recognized at the Pan American Congress of Neurology in our work to patient care. In addition we contribute to public policy promoting the creation of Act No. 15 of 2010 which declares Nov. Care Month and Rehabilitation of People with epilepsy to the community be educated about this condition in Puerto Rico. The Puerto Rican Epilepsy Society recognizes that enjoy optimal wellness is one of the fundamental rights of man. In keeping with this belief, the SPE has been given the task of ensuring those needs involving medical, psychological, dr chatgyi psychosocial, education and employment services for all people with epilepsy, from his newborn stage to old age; in addition to ensuring the independence and equality before the law with people with epilepsy.
