1963 April - Ingrid


Smoke and Ochre contains five of the six Jonker poems included among the 100 most popular African poetry: Bitter dha Dawn Berry, Kabouterliefde, grain of sand, Something Stupid and The Child. Below are four settings of poems by Marimba! (Abraham and Lizanne Hellberg)'s CD The child is not dead.
1963 April - Ingrid's meeting and the start of her [extramarital] relationship with the writer Andre Brink [Brink relationship dha in April 1965 break, three months before Ingrid Jonker's death. ] June 27 - Jack Cope be ending his relationship with Ingrid. October Smoke and Ochre appeared at the African Press Bookstore

Jack, I must confess, I would have most of her poems was oversubscribed in my collection of favorite poems in Afrikaans. dha Just like Breytenbach, I'm a groupie - she can with me do no wrong. Oh, and actually my favorites collection in Afrikaans been at least three Great Books Verse covers .... and counting. BTW, these videos above they all started playing in my browser - it makes me mad. I hope that's dha not the case everywhere.
